Turkiye Transfers

Our Bank has no direct relationship with the products and services of Ziraat Bank Turkey. The action taken by our Bank is limited to forwarding your petition regarding your requests for the products and services in question to the relevant Ziraat Bank branch in Turkey.

1. What is a Turkish Money Transfer? How can I have it done?


T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş. These are EUR money transfers made to branches to be recorded in the Recipient's account or to be paid to the Recipient upon application. You can have a Turkish Money Transfer done in different ways:
⦁    Paying in cash or by card from our branches
⦁    Transferring from your account at another bank
⦁    Online from your Combi account at our bank

2. Can I transfer money to another bank other than T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş.?

If you have an account with our bank, you can transfer money to other banks. In this case, your money transfer will be transferred as a SWIFT money transfer. The delivery and pricing of SWIFT money transfers are different from Turkish Money Transfers.

3. What documents do I need to bring to your bank to make a transfer from your branch?

In order to make a transfer, you must bring the originals of the following documents. Photocopies or pictures from your mobile phone cannot be accepted.
⦁    The person making the transfer must come to our bank in person. No one else can make a transfer on your behalf.
⦁    Your passport AND your residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) card.
⦁     or your German ID
⦁    A document showing your name/surname and IBAN number, current (not older than two weeks) and the source of the amount you brought in cash (Kontoauszug or Auszahlungsbeleg).

4. Why do I have to provide my IBAN number even though I made a transfer from the cashier?

If your transfer cannot be paid to the recipient and is returned from Turkey, your account information (IBAN) is needed so that the returned amount can be sent to you.
In addition, it is our legal responsibility to record the Bank information of the Supervisor in high-amount transfers.

5. What information is required to be included in the transfer?

According to the European Union Money Transfer Regulation No. 847/2015, the following information must be recorded in transfers sent outside Germany by banks operating in Germany:
Information about the sender:
⦁    Name Surname
⦁    IBAN
⦁    Address
⦁    Phone number
Information about the recipient:
⦁    Name Surname
⦁    IBAN or
⦁    TCKN and branch name

If you make a transfer from your account at another bank, as the sender's address and telephone number are not included in the transfer, transfers of €1,000.00 and above cannot be sent to Turkey without these deficiencies being completed and will be returned to your account. In order for your transfer to be processed without being returned, please write your own address in the description field after writing the recipient information. If there is not enough space in this field, please send an email to havale@ziraatbank.de and include your address and phone number in your first (one-time) bank transfer. Please do not forget to include the transfer amount and your own IBAN in your email so that the transactions can be processed quickly.

6.       How long does it take for my transfer to reach Turkiye?

Transfers made in person at our branch or via Internet Banking from Combi Account Transfers from your account at another bank
It will be sent to the Ziraat Bank in Turkiye within the next 24 hours. The transfer amount will reach our bank the day after it is withdrawn from your home bank account. It will also be sent to T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş. on the following business day.


7.       What should the Recipient pay attention to when investigating the Transfer?

The Recipient of the Transfer should investigate the Transfer directly from the Ziraat Bank Turkey branch. If he/she calls our units in Germany, it is not possible to provide information to him/her within the framework of Data Privacy principles.
If the specified account of the recipient is a TRY account, it is not taken into account by the branches of T.C. Ziraat Bank since there is no exchange rate risk or loss, and the recipient is expected to apply in person. For this reason, the recipient waiting for a transfer to his/her account should first investigate from his/her own branch in case of a delay.
If no result is obtained, if the person sending the transfer made the transfer in person from the branch, our Bank will contact the relevant branch and investigate the issue if he/she applies to the branch in person with his/her receipt and ID.
If the transfer was made through another bank, the person sending the transfer must first check the elements of the transfer (such as name, branch, IBAN, TR ID No) by obtaining a statement from their bank regarding the transaction.
If the information is correct and at least 3 business days have passed since the transfer, you can request an investigation by sending an e-mail to havale@ziraatbank.de. Do not forget to include the transfer receipt, a copy of your ID, and your name, address and phone number as the sender in your request.

8. How can I find out whether my transfer has been paid to the Recipient in Turkey?

You need to get information from the Recipient on this issue. It is not possible to provide information or confirmation as to whether the transfer transferred to Turkey has been paid to the Recipient within the framework of Data Privacy principles.
However, if you still need written confirmation for certain legal reasons, if you apply to our branch with your transaction receipt, passport and original ID, the Recipient's branch in Ziraat Bank Turkey will be contacted and the outcome will be investigated.

9. How long does it take for my urgent transfer (Fast transfer ) made with Postal Check to reach Turkey?

Your urgent transfer reaches Ziraat Bank International AG approximately 4 hours after it leaves your home bank account. Since the order of transactions is followed in the transfers that reach the Transfer Center, the transfer process time to Turkey is 1-2 business days, as with other transfers.

10.     How can I make changes to the money order I have sent?

No changes can be made to the recipient's name and surname, except for spelling errors. No changes can be made to the transfer sent to the recipient. If you personally visit the branch where we made the transfer with your petition regarding the recipient's address, phone number, branch, etc., your change request will be processed and the change fee of €6.00 ​​will be collected in cash at our branch.

No changes can be made to the transfer that has been transferred to the recipient. The transfer is cancelled in the event of a name change. We kindly request that you transfer the 6 Euro fee, which is the fee for this transaction, to the account you made your first transfer to our Bank by writing the correct transfer information in the “Purpose of use” field and send your signed petition requesting the correction of the recipient information and containing the correct information, a valid copy of your ID with your signature on it and an account statement showing that the transfer amount was transferred from your home bank account to havale@ziraatbank.de. When the transfer fee reaches our bank, the corrections specified in your e-mail will be processed.

11. I made a transfer from my account in another bank, it was returned without being transferred to Turkey. Why?

Your transfer will be returned to your home bank account in the following cases;

If the Sender of a Transfer over 1,000.00 Euro does not have an address in Germany, you must notify your address to havale@ziraatbank.de before the transfer;
If the recipient information is transferred to the Transfer Center incompletely or incorrectly (name, surname, IBAN number or TCKN), the amount will be returned to your home bank account.
